An Australian pioneer in the use of Industrial lithium batteries since 2008,Magellan Powertronics has been designing and manufacturing advanced battery management systems which have enabled advantages of Lithium batteries to be fully utilisedin the field of AC and DC UPS systems as well as Energy Storage.

Lithium Batteries:
Lithium batteries offer many advantages in comparison to the traditional batteries such as Lead Acid and Nicad. 

Some of the advantages of Lithium batteries are:
  • Totally maintenance free.
  • Higher operating temperatures.
  • Much higher cycle life.
  • Long life in standby applications.
  • Long shelf life.
  • Very high charge and discharge efficiency. 
  • Flat discharge curve. 
  • Safer operation (as all parameters of each cell in a bank are monitored).  
  • Approximately a third of the weight of an equivalent Lead Acid battery bank. 
  • Approximately a third of the size of an equivalent Lead Acid battery bank.
  • No heavy metals or corrosive electrolyte. 
  • Higher C rate for charge and discharge.

9 x 24V, 2.6kWh battery modules connected in series.

AC and DC uninterruptible power supplies.
Commercial scale energy storage.

Operating Temperature: 0-45°C.
