Magellan Unveils New Design Home Energy Storage System

New Look HESS
Australian Energy Storage manufacturer Magellan Power has launched a new streamlined and aesthetically pleasing design of the groundbreaking all-in-one renewable energy inverter and storage system.

The Home Energy Storage System (HESS), converts renewable energy into useable power and more importantly stores it, allowing homeowners to benefit from solar power at night. This, combined with its bi-directional energy manager enabling battery recharge at off-peak hours, allows users to save substantially on their electricity bills.  It is also the first product of its kind to contain everything in one unit; there is no need for additional inverters, making it more affordable and bringing install time of a unit down to approximately one hour.

Designed and built in Western Australia, for Australian weather conditions, the 1.3 metre high HESS is made for durability and reliability, and has an innovative in-built cooling system designed to protect the battery from the Australian heat. Other benefits include an Uninterruptible Power Supply, or UPS function, that allows selected essential power loads, such as refrigerators, lights, computers and TVs to remain unaffected in the case of a blackout. The re-designed HESS can still be monitored via smart phone or tablet, be charged from solar panels or the grid, and contains Lithium LG Chem batteries, the most advanced batteries on the market that come with a 10-year warranty.

Managing Director of Magellan Power, Masoud Abshar, said “we are providing equipment to future proof houses from the rising costs of electricity, which the state Government has assured West Australians is coming.  Also, being WA developed and manufactured, customers are assured of swift maintenance turn-around times, as no parts need to be sent from overseas."

Mr Abshar said, "we will be making more than 2,000 HESS's in the coming financial year to cater for massive Australian and international demand. This means we can keep providing more jobs to West Australian engineers, technicians and others like we have for the past 25 years.”
The HESS has the following features:

Brookfield Rail’s Merredin office regularly sources power chargers from Magellan Power, and we always find it an easy process for new purchases and repairs. Their Sales & Repair Manager Shijo is prompt with responses to our queries, and on one occasion travelled to Merredin to meet with us, which we found extremely helpful.
