Australian designer and manufacturer of battery Storage Systems Magellan Power has delivered its Utility Scale Battery Storage System to one of Australia’s largest solar and storage based microgrid projects.
The first stage of the project consists of a new 5.25 MW gas-fired power plant which uses a Magellan Utility Scale Battery Storage System to optimise the efficiency of the power station and provide flexibility in managing future renewable growth of the town it is deployed in.
Magellan signed the contract last year to supply state of the art 1MW/500kWh battery storage systems to be delivered in two 20 foot containers. The completed battery storage will be used for Spinning Reserve and Black Start applications.
