Q) Why did you choose to complete your Apprenticeship at Magellan Power?
A) Becoming a fully qualified Electrician is exciting, I started out here doing dispatch and when the opportunity came up to start an Apprenticeship and gain a qualification I jumped at the chance. The team have been really helpful, and I have some experienced Electricians to learn from – it was a no brainer.
Q) Can you give me a summary of some of your daily tasks here at Magellan Power?
A) Right now I am an Electrical Assembler, I build UPS’s and Battery Chargers which is great as that is what Magellan Power specialise in, I feel really involved in the day to day aspects of the manufacturing process here.
Q) What do you enjoy about working and completing your apprenticeship here at Magellan Power?
A) The different types of jobs and working on different projects, I’m never working on exactly the same thing day in day out, every day is a little different.
Q) What is something interesting you have learned as part of your apprenticeship at Magellan Power?
A) Reading the schematics and Engineers designs are really interesting, I had never seen a schematic before starting this role and now I see them every day! Learning electrical assembly in general like how to follow the schematics, then get the parts and build a charger is now something I can say I can do and the Engineers and Senior Assemblers here at Magellan Power have certainly helped me get to this stage.
