The Cobre Panama project consists of the development of a conventional open pit mine and concentrator to produce copper, gold and molybdenum concentrate.

The project design is based on an initial ore feed rate of 160,000 tonnes per day to the grinding plant. Copper concentrate is delivered as a slurry from the Concentrator at the Process Plant to the Pressure Filtration Plant at the Port Facility.

Client Requirement

Magellan participated and contributed in the conceptual design of the UPS system by sharing our experience for an optimum solution with Wood and Grieves engineers. Therefore, once Magellan was awarded for the job, we were already familiar with the scope of the work.
