Magellan provided a solution with a modular UPS in an industrial IP42 enclosure, featuring a modified layout so all changeable parts are accessible from the front of the system, reducing footprint and clearances around the UPS.
The solution included integrated battery monitoring communicated through SCADA, battery isolation and protection with mid-tier fusing and sitespecific Ethernet IP communication. The enclosure was custom-designed for the client’s application with a turnaround time of 10 weeks to meet a tight shutdown schedule. Magellan also supplied installation assistance and on-site commissioning
Client Requirement
A mining client in the Pilbara region had an aging range of UPS systems. They wanted to replace their current UPS systems with a modular UPS, capitalising on the hot swappable modules. However, the client did not want a commercial solution because environmental dust ingress was a concern and a known problem for commercial UPS systems. Our solution included key components designed for maximum efficiency and reliability, tailored to meet the specific needs of the client.
