Magellan Power personnel visited the site of the power station in Muswellbrook, NSW.
The main agenda of the visit was to identify AGL’s needs and to propose a solution that would be highly reliable and would suit all of the requirements. Magellan proposed a steadfast solution using chopper based 110V, 600A battery chargers and won the contract based on the reliability of the product over its competitors.
Liddell Power station produces around 8,000 GWh of electricity or enough power for approximately one million average Australian family homes.

Client Requirements
AGL approached Magellan Power to offer their best solution for replacement of 8 X 110V, 500A DC battery chargers, which were close to end of life. The 110 V DC systems were used to supply the DC motors (for generator shutdown), DC motors (for boiler section), inverters and some other ancillary loads.
