Magellan Power Delivers Cutting-Edge EV Charging Solution for Karratha Lodge

In August 2024, Magellan Power was proud to deliver an advanced EV charging solution to a prominent accommodation facility in Karratha, WA. Known for its significance along Western Australia’s Electric Highway, Karratha is a hub for tourists and workers from surrounding mining and oil and gas industries.

To support the area’s growing shift towards electric vehicles (EVs), a local lodge sought Magellan Power’s expertise in installing a robust EV charging infrastructure. This initiative, partially funded by the WA Charge Up Grant, includes a PV installation, vanadium batteries and advanced EV charging infrastructure.

Meeting the Client’s Requirements

The client—a lodge that provides short-term accommodation to businesses in the area—sought to enhance their sustainability credentials by offering advanced EV charging capabilities. Their vision included not only catering to their internal guests but also providing a reliable charging service that could one day extend to the general public.

After a thorough site assessment, Magellan Power supplied two 120kW Fast DC Chargers and two 22kW 3PH AC chargers. These chargers were chosen for their efficiency, reliability and ability to handle the varying demands of the lodge’s guests.

In addition to the hardware, Magellan Power provided the Wevolt software platform, a powerful tool for managing and optimising the use of EV chargers. As an authorized reseller of Wevolt, we ensured that the client could monitor and control their charging infrastructure with ease, enabling them to offer a seamless experience to their users.
