Safe collection and delivery of the battery module is then made to the Magellan 4R Battery Sorting Facility, where they undergo comprehensive testing to determine their current status and capabilities.

Batteries are constantly monitored and analysed during their daily operations. This data is relayed back to Magellan Power through our cutting-edge battery monitoring platform.

This platform alerts for any problems and failures, and also signals when a battery has reached its natural ‘end of life’.

Based on the collected data, Magellan engineers first determine whether a battery is reusable for the original application.

If not, then the battery is totally discharged, made safe, dismantled, and processed for RECYCLING at one of our approved recycling plants, where it is broken down into its component raw materials, such as lithium, Cobalt, Manganese, and Copper, to be re-sold or re-purposed elsewhere.

If it is, then the battery will be fully REPAIRED and REFURBISHED and returned to its original owner/application – good as new!

If the battery can be re-used, Magellan 4R Engineers determine whether the battery is fit for its original purpose.

If not, then 4R Engineers assess the battery’s suitability for REPURPOSING in any number of secondary applications, including;

UPS systems, energy storage, or stand-alone power systems – giving the battery new life and a new home in a wide range of other industries.
