“Charge Up” Grant Program Deadline Extended to June 30, 2024!

The Western Australian government has extended the deadline for Round 2 of the “Charge Up” grant program until June 30, 2024 (previously May 3, 2024)!

This extension provides businesses and organisations with additional time to take advantage of the opportunity to receive financial assistance for installing EV chargers.

→ The “Charge Up” grant initiative, led by the Western Australian government, is making a return for Round 2!
This grant focuses on advancing sustainable transportation infrastructure and fostering the uptake of EVs. If you belong to the category of SMEs, local government authorities or NGOs interested in installing AC or DC EV chargers, this is tailor-made for you!

Round 1 witnessed remarkable success, with approved grant funding totalling $2.4 million and the installation of 403 chargers at 221 locations. Notably, 99 Small and Medium Enterprises, 26 Local Government Authorities and 15 Not-for-profits were among the recipients of approval.

Participate in Round 2, and you can avail yourself of financial support covering an impressive 50% of the overall expenses for purchasing installing and obtaining software subscriptions for AC (7 to 22kW) and DC (25kW to 350kW in size) EV chargers designed exclusively for commercial use.

Who is eligible for a grant?

  • Small and medium enterprises (small businesses are defined as having less than 20 employees, medium businesses are defined as having between 20 and 199 employees)
  • Not-for-profits registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profit Commission
  • Local government authorities.

  • Read the WA Government’s user-friendly Applicant Guide.
  • Read the Grant Guidelines.
  • Make sure you get quotes for software and hardware from WA Government’s approved list.
  • Try the interactive spreadsheet of the approved list to assist with selecting your software and hardware options.
  • Submit an application using the online portal.
