Meet Carlos Zanlongo – Sales – Estimator at Magellan Power

Question: What is your position/title at Magellan Power? 

Answer: I am a Sales – Estimator at Magellan Power. 

Question: How long have you been with the company? 

Answer: I have been with Magellan Power for nearly five years, between 2006 and 2010 and almost two years from July 2021. 

Question: What does a typical day look like for you? 

Answer: My typical day involves receiving RFQs (requests for quotation) from clients, going through all documentation and technical specification of the equipment required, preparing the technical solutions to suit the requirements and producing the quotation with our offer. 

Question: What do you find most challenging and rewarding about the role? 

Answer: I enjoy the challenge of producing complex designs to suit particular technical requirements where practical and effective solutions are required. I find it very rewarding when clients appreciate our technical advice and trust in Magellan’s experience in the field of the procurement of AC & DC backup systems.  

Question: Can you share a particular project you enjoyed working on, and how did it deliver value to the client? 

Answer: One of the projects I enjoyed working on was when DC power was required for a highly critical application. To achieve maximum disponibility and reliability of the system, we recommended a solution with several levels of redundancy in the power conversion section, as well as in the battery bank configuration. The tender is still open, but our recommended solution was very much welcomed and appreciated by the client.
